Where can I find surfboard shipping boxes and or other material to ship surfboards in?

Kenny asked:

Ok guys maybe I should be more specific. The Post Office Ups store do not carry 8′x 25″ x 6″ size boxes. I’m saying where do you buy a surfboard specific shipping box and or alternative?
Nope not u-haul either. There has to be a way that all the surfshops do this. Only place I know of is rdi distributing, but they only do whole sale accounts. Somebody must know…

you can go to the u-haul rental place. they have big crates that you can fill with many layers of padding and bubble wrap and other protective things

Check with a local surf shop. They should have boxes that their boards came in for resale. They might not have any in at the moment,. but ask when they will be getting a shipment in.

Check with moving and storage companies. They might have boxes, or can make one for you. Larger cities have box manufacturers that might be able to make custom boxes.

If you don;t have any luck there, you might have to make a box. You can get large pieces of corrugated from many places that deal in large, flat products. Allow about 6′ of extra room for padding (bubble wrap) all around. you might have to tape several sheets together to get the right length. Score the first layer to make folds. Tape up all the corners and joints before shipping. Be sure to pay the extra for insurance for the board in case of damage.
